What Does It Mean To Be Well-Educated? by Alfie Kohn Reading Response
I enjoyed reading this article written by Alfie Kohn because he talked about what it really means to be well-educated. I have experienced many times when someone has called someone else dumb or stupid just because they are not educated about a certain subject. Many people think that you are well educated just by taking 15 credit courses for 4 years and then earning a degree. You are educated, but that does not mean that someone who have not even attended college is not well educated. I personally think that you can be well-educated in whatever you want, because you have some sort of knowledge about something. To conclude the whole article, Alfie Kohn states,"It’s not only the ability to raise and answer those questions that matters, though, but also the disposition to do so. For that matter, any set of intellectual objectives, any description of what it means to think deeply and critically, should be accompanied by a reference to one’s interest or intrinsic motivation to do such thinking." To me, he is basically saying that to be well-educated means to have some sort of knowledge and passion of a certain interest. It puzzles me to think that people would think otherwise, but this is a question that people will never have the exact answer to.

Howard Garner Intro 1 Youtube Video Response
I can honestly say that I was very confused about this video such exactly what "G" intelligence is and other things that Garner was discussing. I do agree that there are different kinds of intelligence and that is why people, of course, think differently. Colleges and institutions use IQ tests for SATS, ACTS and other standardized test, but I do not see the reason for using IQ test if students have different ways of thinking in certain subjects.
